Call for Abstracts

The CNHS Forum for Undergraduate Research will bring together promising students from the College of Natural and Health Sciences to participate and share their original research, scholarly and creative activities with fellow students, faculty and staff members of Zayed University. Undergraduate and recently graduated students are encouraged to present the outcome of their senior projects and other scholarly work.

Key deadlines and instructions:

Please read the following instructions and guidelines for preparing and submitting your abstract for oral or poster presentation:

​

  • Abstracts must be submitted by October 15th, 2025. No corrections or submissions will be accepted after this deadline.

  • Abstracts must be submitted in English and emailed to: CNHS.URF@zu.ac.ae. Faxed abstracts will not be accepted.

  • Submission of an abstract constitutes a formal commitment by the presenting author to attend the conference and make the presentation if accepted.

  • All abstracts will be subjected to a blind review process and the highest ranked abstracts will be selected for oral presentation.

  • Authors will be notified by e-mail no later than November 1st, 2025 regarding their abstract acceptance and form of their presentation (poster or oral presentation). 

  • Instructions for oral presentation and poster preparation will be emailed to the presenting authors.

  • Authors should only be students. Students may mention respective mentor/supervisor’s name, but not include them as authors.

Guidelines for Abstract Submission

  • Abstract length should range from 100 to 200 words. Standard abbreviations may be used.

  • The abstract should be as informative as possible, and presented with the following subheadings in sequence: 

  1. Title: Should be brief and descriptive and not exceeding 10 words

  2. Authors: e.g. Abraham SA, Mula NT, Jamal ZA (no & before the last author). Authors names should be followed by their affiliations in the next line e.g. Department of Natural Sciences and Public Health, Zayed University, Dubai, UAE. Presenting authors should be designated (*)

  • Key words: three to five keywords

  • Objectives: state specific objective(s) of study

  • Methods: state methods used and experimental design, if pertinent

  • Results: summarize results obtained

  • Conclusions: state conclusions reached and implication of your findings

Guidelines for Paper Submission

  • Paper length is approximately 3100 words/ 10 pages. References only may be included on up to 2 additional pages.

  • Font and spacing: 1.5, 12 Time New Roman 

  • Bibliography/ reference list should follow the APA sixth edition style

  • Paper should include the following sections:

    • Abstract

    • Key words: three to five keywords

    • Introduction

    • Methods

    • Results

    • Conclusions

    • References
